The 2013 China Cross-border E-commerce Conference and the Third Annual Meeting of the China International Fair for Cross-border Trade opened today in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, gathering over 1,000 senior executives from global cross-border e-commerce companies and representatives from industry associations to discuss the new trends in the development of cross-border e-commerce.
It is reported that cross-border e-commerce has become a new growth point in China's e-commerce market transactions. In 2011 and 2012, the growth rates of cross-border e-commerce transaction volume were 33% and 25% respectively, far exceeding the growth rate of foreign trade. In 2012, the transaction volume exceeded the 2 trillion yuan mark. While the cross-border e-commerce market is growing rapidly, it also puts forward higher requirements for platforms, logistics, payment, settlement and other links, which has become an urgent problem to be solved at present.
Facing the opportunities and challenges in the cross-border e-commerce industry, the China International Trade Fair holds its annual industry conference, aiming to build a platform for communication, cooperation, development and mutual benefit for global cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and to ensure that the high-quality products of Chinese small and micro enterprises sell well worldwide.
