DJI Enters 360 Camera Market: What It Means for Everyday Creators
DJI’s launch of the Osmo 360 has officially ended Insta360’s solo dominance in the 360° camera market, signaling more intense competition at the high end. While these brands focus on 1-inch sensors, 8K resolution, and advanced AI, the real shift is that cameras today are valued for creativity, fun, and accessibility rather than specs alone. Our company follows a different path: instead of competing in the premium niche, we focus on consumer-friendly cameras — kids’ cameras, youth digital cameras, and affordable vlog cameras. We believe not everyone needs professional-grade features, but everyone deserves the ability to capture and share their stories. Our mission is to make imaging affordable, simple, and inspiring for everyday creators.
On July 31st, DJI officially launched its first 360° camera, the Osmo 360, marking its entry into the field long dominated by Insta360. The launch created huge buzz — the new product sold out on DJI’s website within an hour. Almost immediately, Insta360 responded with a promotion on its latest flagship, cutting the price by ¥500.
The competition between these two giants has captured attention worldwide. Their products, equipped with large sensors and advanced software, are pushing the technical limits of 360° imaging. DJI’s Osmo 360, for example, features a 1-inch sensor for stronger low-light performance, while Insta360’s X5 offers 8K recording and powerful AI features.
But beyond the headlines, what does this mean for the wider consumer camera market?
From Niche to Mainstream
Not long ago, 360° cameras were mainly for professionals making VR effects or special content. Today, they’ve become part of everyday life for vloggers, travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Social media platforms are filled with creative short videos — from dramatic transitions to immersive POV shots — powered by compact and easy-to-use devices.
This trend reflects something important: cameras are no longer just about technical specs. They’re about experience, creativity, and accessibility.
Our Focus: Cameras for Everyone
While DJI and Insta360 are racing for the high-end 360° market, our company has always focused on another mission: making cameras that are affordable, fun, and creative for young users and beginners.
Kids’ Instant Print Cameras: Simple, playful, and safe for children to capture their world.
Youth Digital Cameras: Affordable options for teenagers who want to explore photography without a smartphone.
Vlog Cameras: Easy-to-use devices designed for quick shooting, flipping screens, and instant sharing.
We believe that not everyone needs 8K resolution or a 1-inch sensor. What many people really need is a starter camera that sparks creativity and makes recording fun.
The Bigger Picture
The growing popularity of 360° cameras shows that more people are excited about recording their lives in new ways. At the same time, the rise of kids’ cameras, creative youth cameras, and simple vlogging tools reflects another truth: imaging should be accessible to everyone.
That’s where we come in. Our goal is not just to follow the high-end race, but to create products that open the door for the next generation of creators — whether they are children picking up a camera for the first time, teenagers exploring their creativity, or budget-conscious vloggers who want a simple and reliable device.
Because at the end of the day, cameras aren’t just machines. They’re about capturing joy, telling stories, and seeing the world through fresh eyes.
